Joseph Mushipi is a self-taught visual artist from Zambia. He paints and sculpts with extraordinary attention to detail, with a particular eye for the warmth of animation and the small humors he observes in everyday life. He considers himself an African storyteller through his work, drawing inspiration from African folk-tales, experiences as well as wildlife. 

Joseph spent the last 12 years living in Eswatini, a small country in Southern Africa, before immigrating to the US with his Rhode Island-born wife and young son in May of 2021.
